China Automotive Industry Global Development and Cooperation Seminar — Thailand in Focus to Be Held in Shanghai in March
Upcoming Events     2026 / 02 / 14

Thailand has become a core hub for Chinese NEV overseas expansion, bolstered by favorable industrial policies, pivotal geographical strengths and its radiation to the ASEAN market. In 2025, Chinese brands held a 75% share of Thailand’s NEV market, and the number of Chinese-funded auto parts enterprises in the country tripled in three years. Thailand’s new EV3.5 Policy has shifted focus from subsidies to industrial chain development, imposing mandatory requirements like local battery production and matching local manufacturing capacity. While creating new opportunities for Chinese auto enterprises and their supply chains, it also brings a series of challenges, including localization, operations and ecosystem development.

Chinese auto enterprises and supply chain players are accelerating their deployment in Thailand: seven automakers have built production plants with a planned capacity of over 600,000 vehicles. The sector is moving from a sole focus on vehicle exports to a full industrial chain layout covering manufacturing, parts and energy infrastructure. Yet further efforts are needed to adapt to local policies and regulations, integrate with the local industrial chain and build a full-chain service system. Access to the ASEAN and global markets through Thailand has become a strategic choice for China’s automotive industry going global, with in-depth industrial linkage and coordinated development emerging as an inevitable trend.

Against this backdrop, the China Automotive Industry Global Development and Cooperation Seminar—Thailand in Focus, hosted by China EV100 and organized by G100, will be held in Shanghai on March 19, 2026, under the theme Exploring a New Pathway for China-Thailand NEV Industry Cooperation and Development. The seminar will build a platform for exchange, resource integration and win-win cooperation between China’s automotive industry and the Thai market, helping enterprises seize Thai market opportunities, address overseas expansion challenges, and achieve in-depth local development and regional expansion.
