Zhang Yongwei Visits CHANGAN Automobile for Research and Exchanges

On January 29, a delegation led by Zhang Yongwei, GREEM President, visited CHANGAN Automobile. The two parties held in-depth discussions on the development trends of China’s automotive industry in the 15th Five-Year Plan period, as well as international cooperation and industrial ecosystem construction. The delegation was warmly received by Changan’s senior executives, including Zhu Huarong, Party Secretary and Chairman, Mi Mengdong, Vice President, and Xie Shikang, Chief Expert.

GREEM team visited Changan’s Product Exhibition Hall, gaining a detailed understanding of the company’s development history, brand portfolio, product layout, and forward-looking achievements in its NEVs and intelligent technology.

During the discussion, Zhang Yongwei noted that 2026, the inaugural year of the 15th Five-Year Plan, is a crucial year for the in-depth restructuring of China’s automotive industry, and driving the industry’s high-quality development has become a key focus across the sector. Currently, the automotive industry is entering a new stage characterized by intelligence, green, integration and internationalization. Strengthening policy-enterprise synergy, standardizing market competition, expanding international operations, and upgrading brands are key to the industry’s long-term growth.

Zhang Yongwei elaborated on the achievements of the overseas expansion platform in key areas: industrial policy research, market trend forecasting, industrial empowerment, and brand culture development. He also shared the team’s preliminary insights and recommendations for the core industry issues of the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Zhu Huarong extended a warm welcome to Zhang and his team. He spoke highly of the important contributions of Zhang’s team to advancing the high-quality development of China’s NEV industry.

Mi Mengdong introduced the company’s overall development and praised the research guidance and industrial synergy effects of Zhang’s team as a top-tier industry think tank. He noted that against a challenging domestic market and complex, volatile international environment, the industry is in urgent need of closer collaboration with think tanks to jointly analyze industry trends and overcome difficulties.

The two sides agreed to deepen cooperation and jointly explore collaboration in industrial research, policy dialogue, overseas expansion, and brand development. They pledged to combine expertise and resources to advance China’s automotive industry from quantity to quality—and strengthen its global competitiveness.
