The 2025 Global New Energy Vehicle Cooperation and Development Forum (GNEV2025·Shanghai), hosted by China EV 100 with strategic support from Global Renewable Energy & Electric Mobility (GREEM), was held in Shanghai on June 24-25, 2025. With the theme of “New Pathways for Global Cooperation in the Automotive Industry”, the forum brought together stakeholders across the sector to exchange views on the evolving landscape of global automotive collaboration, the internationalization of Chinese automakers, new strategies for multinational carmakers in China, and the role of financial services in supporting the industry’s global expansion. Discussions were conducted through main forum, sub-forums, and a closed session, exploring new opportunities for collaborative development in the global automotive industry.

On the afternoon of June 24, the closed session was held under the theme “Mobilizing Global Partners for a New Automotive Industry Ecosystem”. Focusing on “two-way engagement”, the session gathered industry leaders and experts to discuss major issues, including: the latest trends in global automotive industry’s transformation, the challenges facing regional development; innovative practices by companies in driving transformation, strategies to navigate the complex international environment, innovative models and practical pathways for global cooperation, and recommendations on building resilient partnerships amid complex circumstances. At the meeting, Zhang Yongwei, Executive Chairman of GREEM, delivered a keynote speech on GREEM’s work progress and plans.

On June 25, the main forum, centered on the theme of “New Pathways for Global Cooperation in Automotive Industry”, focused on two key agendas: “Linking China’s Automotive Industry with the World” and “New Pathways for Multinational Automakers’ Development in China”. Attending organizations included the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, Magna, Infineon, XPeng, Voyah, Gotion High-Tech, REPT BATTERO Energy, Hunan Jingneng New Energy, Eldor Group, Autoliv China, Caresoft, and Ventech. During the session, China EV100, together with several international companies, launched the “Partnership Action Plan for High-Quality Development of Multinational Automakers in China” initiative—aimed at promoting deep integration and collaborative innovation between multinational automakers and China’s NEV industry through practical cooperation.

In the afternoon of June 25, a parallel sub-forum titled “Financial Empowerment for Automotive Global Expansion: Trends, Innovation and Cooperation” was held. It addressed topics such as the new dynamics of industrial transformation, regional challenges, enterprises’ innovative practices, and global cooperation models. Representatives from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), NIO Capital, iMotion Technology, Beidou Intelligent Connected Vehicle, Nomura Research Institute (Shanghai) Consulting, China International Capital Corporation (CICC), and Bank of China International (BOCI), etc., discussed issues related to the NEVs internationalization, such as financial needs, risk management, financing mechanisms, and green financial products.
The GNEV2025·Shanghai served not only as a platform for global exchange and cooperation in the NEV sector but also as a fresh driver for the worldwide expansion of China’s automotive industry. China EV100 and its strategic partner GREEM reaffirmed their commitment to leveraging their platforms to drive the green, intelligent, and integrated development of the global automotive industry.
