Zhang Yongwei, Chairman of China EV100, held high-level talks with Mr. Dawood Al Shezawi, President of EV World and Chairman of the AIM Global Foundation, on April 12, 2026. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on aligning China's NEV industry with the Middle East market and reached positive consensus on deepening industrial cooperation.

Currently, China's NEV industry is accelerating its global expansion. While the Middle East and Africa markets hold great potential, Chinese companies face practical challenges such as unclear market access policies, difficulties in government approvals, and a lack of local resources. Against this backdrop, both parties agreed that building an industrial bridge connecting Chinese automakers with the Middle East market holds significant strategic value.

During the meeting, Mr. Dawood Al Shezawi shared insights on the development trends and strategic opportunities in the Middle East NEV market. He noted that the UAE has made NEVs a core focus of its green transition, and Dubai, as a hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe, can provide an efficient gateway for Chinese automakers to enter broader emerging markets. EV World (World New Energy Vehicle and Future Mobility Industry Exhibition), the EV industry exhibition under his leadership, is co-organized with Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and will hold its inaugural edition in Dubai this November, focusing on the entire EV ecosystem. It aims to establish a premier platform for dialogue and collaboration between governments, industry players, and investors in the Middle East. He expressed his desire to establish strategic cooperation with China EV100, a full-industry-chain platform, to strengthen the alignment of "government-industry-academia-research-finance" ecosystems and jointly facilitate the efficient connection between China's NEV industry and the Middle East market.

Zhang Yongwei, Chairman of China EV100, outlined the organization's global expansion strategy. He noted that China's NEV industry has entered a critical phase of "going global," and China EV100 has long been dedicated to building industrial cooperation platforms, having already established collaboration models in markets such as Southeast Asia and Europe to provide systematic support for Chinese automakers in setting up overseas plants, building sales networks, and conducting joint R&D. This meeting strongly aligns with China EV100's strategic plan to expand high-level overseas industrial forums and build regional industrial cooperation corridors.

Both sides expressed strong recognition of the cooperation prospects and will establish a regular communication mechanism to advance practical cooperation projects and industrial exchange activities in due course. China EV100 will continue to expand its overseas industrial cooperation network, providing high-level dialogue platforms, local resource connections, and regional collaboration support for Chinese enterprises seeking to deepen their presence in emerging markets such as the Middle East, thereby facilitating the deeper and more substantive globalization of China's NEV industry.
