On November 5, 2025, Mr. Christoph Wolff, CEO of the Smart Freight Centre (SFC)—a leading global organization in freight decarbonization—visited China EV100, where he was warmly received by Mr. Liu Xiaoshi, Vice Chairman of China EV100 and Director of GREEM, along with relevant officials.

The meeting took place at a pivotal moment—global commercial vehicle electrification is gaining momentum, and zero-emission logistics has become an essential part of the dual carbon strategy. With shared commitment and mutual respect, both parties engaged in practical discussions on key topics such as the advancement of smart logistics, the development of zero-emission freight corridors, and the transition toward port electrification, drawing valuable insights from industry experiences in both China and the West.

As an international organization dedicated to building a more efficient and zero-emission global freight system, SFC works closely with over 200 multinational enterprises and international institutions around the world. Its Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) Framework has become the foundational reference for the ISO 14083 standard and is adopted by more than 170 multinational companies for carbon emission accounting and reporting.

During the meeting, Mr. Christoph Wolff shared SFC’s achievements, highlighting impactful initiatives such as the Zero-Emission Freight Initiative (ZEFI) and its successful implementation of zero-emission corridors in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Greater Bay Area. He also introduced the innovative North American ZETSCALE project, which is helping to reduce the “green premium” of electric heavy-duty trucks through centralized procurement. Mr. Wolff expressed deep appreciation for China’s leadership in commercial vehicle electrification, recognizing the country’s strong policy support and forward-thinking market practices. He emphasized that advancements in zero-emission logistics are making a meaningful contribution to reducing road transport emissions and expressed a sincere hope for deeper dialogue between China and the global community.

Liu Xiaoshi warmly welcomed the delegation and shared valuable insights drawn from China’s current industry landscape. He emphasized that heavy trucks, as significant contributors to polluting emissions, represent a crucial opportunity for advancing road transport decarbonization. As a key platform for industry exchange, China EV100 has been closely following niche yet impactful areas such as port electrification and energy infrastructure development in recent years. He highlighted encouraging progress from local initiatives, including Tianjin Port’s pilot program using hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks and Linfen’s successful full electrification of public sector vehicles. Liu also noted that innovative models like battery-swapping and comprehensive energy supply solutions are effectively addressing real-world industry challenges. He expressed appreciation for SFC’s leadership in carbon accounting standards and global cooperation networks, which he sees as highly complementary to China EV100’s strengths in industry coordination and resource integration. Looking ahead, he looks forward to meaningful collaboration that can help align Chinese innovations with global standards, fostering mutual learning and shared progress.

During the talks, both parties engaged in targeted discussions on a range of important topics. In the following exchanges, Mr. Christoph Wolff stated that SFC will use its global network to help share China’s successful zero-emission logistics practices with the world. Besides, China EV100 will leverage its local expertise and resources to build stronger bridges for Chinese and foreign enterprise collaboration. Looking ahead, both sides look forward to deepening their collaboration through practical dialogues and joint efforts on niche areas, working together to advance mutual goals.
