Seminar on China-Finland New Energy Vehicle Industry Cooperation Successfully Held to Explore New Future of Green Mobility

On September 25, 2025, the “Seminar on China-Finland New Energy Vehicle Industry Cooperation,” co-hosted by China EV100 and Business Finland, was successfully held. The seminar gathered representatives from industrial sectors, enterprises, and research institutions in both China and Finland, facilitating in-depth exchanges on topics such as NEV industry development, policy making, technological cooperation, and market opportunities.

The seminar was hosted by Liu Xiaoshi, member of GREEM Committee and Vice Chairman of China EV100. Marko Tiesmäki, Commercial Counsellor of the Embassy of Finland in China and Head of China Office at Business Finland, stated that Finland attaches great importance to cooperation with China in the NEV. He expressed expectations that such high-level dialogues would promote practical cooperation between enterprises of the two countries in technology, supply chains, and market expansion.

Zhang Yongwei, Chairman of China EV100 and Executive President of GREEM, shared insights on the global trends of NEV industry cooperation. He pointed out that China-Europe cooperation on green transition has become a key driver for the global automotive industry transformation. The overseas expansion in OEMs, supply chains, and service support systems, as well as effective connection with overseas automotive industries, has become an important model and path for the international development of China’s automotive industry.

Tero Lausala, President of Autoalan Keskusliitto (AKL), introduced the current status and features of Finland’s automotive industry. He emphasized that Finland, as a Nordic country with a leading NEV penetration rate, boasts a sound testing environment and policy support. Jarmo Tuorila from Business Tampere focused on promoting Tampere’s development and investment environment, highlighting cooperation opportunities in the automotive ecological industrial chain, intelligent transportation, and battery ecosystem. Cai Liying, Head of Policy Research at the Overseas Department of China Automotive Engineering Research Institute (CAERI), analyzed the opportunities and challenges in the internationalization of the NEV industry from the perspective of China-Europe cooperation and proposed a number of pragmatic cooperation paths.

The seminar attracted high attention from Chinese and Finnish enterprises, with nearly 40 enterprises participating in the exchanges. During the enterprise promotion, representatives from Chinese and Finnish enterprises—including Shandong Heavy Industry Group, Huayou Cobalt, Linchr, Virta, Sunwoda, UNIKIE, Mirka, BHTC, and Canatu—shared insights on areas such as NEV transition, battery recycling, charging network construction, intelligent cockpits, and autonomous driving. They demonstrated the technological advantages and their willingness to work together.

The successful holding of this seminar not only deepened the mutual understanding between China and Finland of each other’s industrial ecosystems but also laid a solid foundation for future enterprise matchmaking and project implementation. Going forward, China EV100 and Business Finland will continue to play their roles, promoting in-depth cooperation between China and Finland green transportation, smart energy, and circular economy.
